Falcon Spartak Gymnastics
A little word from Kay Salter about Falcon Spartak

Falcon Spartak was founded in 1973 when it was set up it was a club for coaching men’s gymnastics, but after several years it became apparent that children and young people with a disability should be offered the opportunity to join in. This presented the club with a problem as many children with disabilities are girls so the club constitution was changed in order to take in girls as well.

The 1990’s saw a series of incredible things happen with the ‘special needs’ gymnasts, a team entered the National Championships and returned home with so may medals it was truly unbelievable.

The clubs success has continued with our special gymnasts and for the last 20 years many of them have taken part in the Poole Open Disability competition an international competition for they are able to work men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics, trampoline and rhythmic gymnastics.

We have also produced 4 national rhythmic gymnastics champions.

Our mainstream gymnasts also enter competitions and are proving to be quite successful. They have only been competing for the last two years so we expect great things from them in years to come.

Falcon Spartak is a very small friendly club that involved the whole family. We rely heavily on fund raising to help purchase new important safety equipment.

Our website can be found on www.falconspartak.com and we also have a Facebook page all over seen by our fabulous volunteers.
